**Important notes (please read)**
First case: Before starting the first case, please read and understand the General Instructions where you will find explanations for 1) how the scoring works; 2) how the diagnostic menus and buttons work; and 3) what happens to your score when you submit your diagnosis.
Accessing these instructions: These instructions can be reviewed any time after you start a case by clicking on the button labeled "Instructions" found at the top of the main Diagnostic Menu.
Navigation features: Familiarize yourself with the clearly visible Flash navigation buttons , particularly the "back button"
found near the lower left corner.
Avoid using the browser's forward, back, refresh, or reload buttons or shortcuts because these actions can inadvertently cause the loss of points, especially when you are in the process of submitting your diagnosis.Allotted time for submission: The time allotted to solve a case, once started, will be indicated by a timer at the bottom of the Diagnostic Menu when it first appears. Different times may be allotted for different cases. The timer counts down in minutes and you must submit your diagnosis before the timer reaches zero in order to record your current score to the database. Note: If your first diagnosis is incorrect, you can submit a second diagnosis (along with your new score) as long as the timer has not yet reached zero. (Actually, you have 60 sec. grace period when the timer changes over from 1 min to 0 min because the timer counts down to 0 sec.)
Browser or computer crashes: If by chance your browser or computer crashes after you start a case, you can resume the case with exactly the same score and time remaining by logging on to the case when your computer is working again.
Reviewing cases: After submitting your first and second diagnoses (if your first diagnosis is incorrect), within the allotted time, you may continue to review the case even after you close the browser and later log into the case again. However, any new scores for the case will not be recorded to the database and your previously recorded score for the case will not change.
